If you need to focus on other things or go to sleep while your computer is executing a lengthy operation, you can use SilencePC to make it shut down automatically. The application lets you set up a precise shutdown timer without any effort. Furthermore, SilencePC is capable of preforming other power-related actions as well.

The application is free and it can be used on any modern Windows version. Its setup file is small and you can install its components in just a few seconds. You don't have to worry about its resource usage and there is no need to meet any special requirements.

There is not much to say about SilencePC. All you have to do is specify how much time should pass until the computer should shut down and click a button. Alternatively, you can choose another power option, on the same compact user interface. The software can also reboot your computer, set it to sleep mode or log off the current user.

Setting up a shutdown schedule can be done just by dragging the corresponding sliders for hours, minutes and seconds. Once you start the countdown, the remaining time will be displayed in the lower region of the interface, along with a progress bar. If you change your mind, you can stop the countdown at any time, with a single click.

If you need to step away from your computer, you can make it shut down automatically, without you needing to be anywhere near it.

Pros

You can set up a shutdown countdown without any effort. You can choose between different actions, besides shutting down the computer. The application is free and you can have it up and running in no time.

Cons

On rare occasions, the selected action may not be executed.
